Be a real-life movie director and walk the red carpet at your film premiere!

Scorcese. Burton. Spielberg. Who’s next? With Pali’s Summer Film Summer Camp training, the next up-and-coming filmmaker is YOU! If you dream of seeing your name in lights and are serious about a future in film, this camp program is a “reel” opportunity for you to imagine, develop and transform an idea into a three to five minute film. Our California film camp’s Hollywood experts teach you what it takes to make it in the biz as a director. In our introduction to film — workshop you'll learn every you need to know about filmmaking- so you can take your first walk down the red carpet at your very own film premiere! The following is a snapshot of the film schedule which shows all the great activities you will get to experience at Pali’s California Film Summer Camp.

One-week session: If you want to have an amazing time while learning the basics of film-making, the Film Institute is for you!
Two-week session:
  • All one-week session activities
  • Learn script-writing techniques
  • Fully create your very own short film
  • Craft storyboards
  • Coordinate shooting schedules
  • Learn directing techniques
  • Practice professional editing systems including Final Cut Pro
  • Develop theme, character, tension, and conflict

And let’s not forget that movies are made to be screened! That is exactly what our Film Summer Camp participants do at the end of their stay here at Pali — show their creations to their fellow campers and counselors at the fabulous Pali Showcase!
