Frequently Asked Questions

When is my payment due?

A $500 deposit per child is required to reserve a spot. Your final payment is due in full for all sessions on or before May 1, 2008.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer sibling discounts and early bird discounts. When enrolling a sibling you receive a 5% discount. For early enrollment discounts, payments must be made in full by February 22, 2008 (10%), or March 21, 2008 (5%).

What is your refund policy?

To meet the high demand and ensure that everyone who wants a spot is able to get one, we do not grant full refunds after February 1, 2008. However, you may purchase Cancellation Insurance in order to receive a partial refund. When space is available, a camper may switch sessions.

What is your dismissal policy?

In order to provide a positive experience for all campers, Pali Adventures maintains the right to dismiss campers who disrupt camp. Cooperation and mutual respect are mandatory requirements for our camp community. Hitting and/or teasing are grounds for immediate dismissal. Campers removed or dismissed for any reason will not be refunded.

Is my child ready for camp?

Parents are expected to evaluate their child prior to enrollment. Your child must be ready to be away from home for the duration of their session with no parent contact, with the exception of written letters. Mild homesickness is natural and our Camp Mom will be ready with hugs and motherly advice. With that in mind, parents should think twice before sending campers who have limited experience away from home or who are not excited about participating in camp, as there are no refunds for campers unable to stay for the duration of their session. We expect campers to arrive with a positive attitude - ready to make new friends and learn new skills. We'll be waiting for them with open arms, fun activities and great food!

Do you offer Cancellation Insurance?

Since we have a limited number of beds at Pali, most parents enroll their children in camp months in advance to insure a spot. We realize that situations arise (i.e. illness, family emergencies, change of plans etc...), therefore, Pali is happy to offer a camp insurance program that must be purchased at the time of enrollment.

If Cancellation Happens BEFORE:

  • 2/1/08: 100%
  • 3/1/08: 75%
  • 4/1/08: 50%

Cancellation Insurance may be purchased for $150 per week.

What are the meals like at Pali?

We like to think Pali Mountain offers Ritz Carlton quality food for kids. Our full-time kitchen staff and executive chef prepare three fresh meals daily to satisfy the taste of every palate. While our menu is designed to appeal to campers' taste buds, it also meets parents' expectations regarding excellent nutrition.

How does transportation to and from camp work?

Pali Mountain is located between 65-95 miles from Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties. Parents have the option of driving their campers to camp, taking advantage of our charter bus service, or using one of our two local airports, either at LAX or Ontario.

Charter Bus Service

Los Angeles:

Pali Adventures offers a charter bus service from Federal Building (Visitor Parking Lot C) in Westwood just off Wilshire Blvd., between Sepulveda and Veteran. Take the 405 Freeway and exit on Wilshire Blvd. towards Westwood. The Federal Building is on the right.

Orange County:

Pali offers a charter bus services from South Coast Plaza (Costa Mesa) opposite Bloomingdales.

San Diego:

Pali also offers charter bus services from Horton Plaza.

  • Buses depart from location to camp on Sundays exactly at 12 noon
  • Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
  • Campers should eat lunch prior to departure, as their next meal will be dinner at camp.
  • Buses will return to the location on Saturdays at 12:00 noon.
  • The price for charter bus is $40 one-way or $80 round trip.

Airport Service

Ontario Airport and LAX

Pali offers airport service on check-in and check-out days. Ontario is the preferred airport since it's the closest to the camp and requires a shorter trip than LAX. The price for transportation from the Ontario Airport is $40 one-way or $80 round trip. The price for transportation from LAX is $100 one-way or $200 round-trip.

What are the living accommodations like at Pali?

Each cabin houses up to ten campers and two staff members. The accommodations include solid wood built-in bunks, radiant floor heating, full bathroom and shower facilities, and an unlimited supply of pure mountain spring water!

What does my child do at night?

Pali Adventures provides our campers with an exciting evening activity every night of the summer. In fact, ask our campers and many of them will tell you it's the highlight of their day.

A welcome campfire and counselor hunt starts each week with the campers getting to learn the counselor's names while earning money to be used at the Pali Casino Night. Casino is an evening activity where campers experience a themed atmosphere with various games and activities (roulette, craps, poker and blackjack).

Pandemonium is an activity that really needs to be experienced as no words can possibly do the activity justice. Just be prepared to get wet and have shaving cream on your face, or egg in your hair, water ballooned or... enough, I can tell you no more!!!

Survivor is a very popular evening activity for our female campers. They participate in an awesome team based competition that encompasses most of the campsite. Our fellas' get to choose from 3 - 5 different team sports in which to participate.

Our movie night is very unique... it's movies made by our campers during the film specialty. They will truly knock your socks off!!!!

Friday night is such a blast; movie night, dance recitals, rock star showcase and the fashion show... what more can we do? Oh yeah!!! Our themed dance is an absolute must... This is week-in and week-out our camper's favorite evening activity.

Throw in the wildest water war West of the Rockies, shaving cream fights, raids, the Pali Adventure, themed meals, Aussie Bludge day, carnival day, red, white & blue day, the college bowl, Pali race, bragging rites, night ropes (I double dog dare you!), fear factor, carnival night, apache relay and midnight delight and you'll soon realize that one week is simply not enough!!!
