In the previous time children attended camp during age 15. As their college years not starting until age 17, parents were left with a 2 year gap. Travel programs, academic enrichment, wilderness adventure, community service and exotic Caribbean programs are some of the most popular opportunities for today’s senior campers. These focused programs accommodate children through ages 17 and 18. As the cold war ended there has been a major rise in the number of children coming from many countries throughout the world to the US to experience the American phenomenon of teens Summer Camp.
Many of the families are very interested in an immersion into American culture, leisure and to improve their children's language skills. So, many Camp Directors quite interested to incorporating an international taste to their camps, suggest English as a second language as an added component to their program. For an American child, who may otherwise never meet or cooperate socially with children from other countries, there is a lot of benefit from this trend. In the quiet, entertaining and educational setting of these Camps, children from all over the earth are coming jointly to enjoy activities, gain an admiration for the diversity of the world's different cultures, and to study and improve communication and develop.
