Before you head out for a horse ride always check the tack thoroughly and make any necessary repairs. Remember to take a little string, a pocket knife and strips of leather, incase your tack fails it will help you to repair. Try to avoid riding alone. If you are alone even if you meet with a minor accident it will create lot of trouble. Wearing hard-soled boots with a small heal is good. Avoid boots which have deep arches or large treads, as they can cause your feet to get caught in the stirrups.
Make sure to wear a protective head gear. Even if you have a fall it gives protection for your head. To be safe from uv rays and dust go for a cool pair of shades. Avoid woodland areas as it can be full of hazards. The woods may have natural hazards which may be hidden under vegetation. Barbed wire may have been put up many years ago and as it will be partially down, rusty and difficult to see there is a chance for you to get tangled.
Horseback riding camps are really very pleasurable and a relatively safe form of the recreation. Just keep these tips are in mind and you can have a lifetime of the safe and enjoyable riding.

I think it's a great idea to send a child to a horseback riding camp because not only do they get to do what they love doing, they also get to do so in a safe environment that teaches them the basic safety steps that all too often get overlooked.
