Counselor in Training

Counselors developed through the camper ranks offer camps great value. The love and devotion for a summer camp developed as a camper cannot be matched. The Counselor In Training program is designed for campers aged 16 who are interested in working at a summer camp as a counselor.

Our CITs will be given an orientation similar to that given to our camp counselors. It will include classes in age characteristics, counseling techniques, group dynamics, organizational skills, basic first aid and CPR training.

CITs will also receive hands-on experience working with our younger cabins under the direct supervision of our experienced cabin counselors. The CIT participants will also design, plan and execute an afternoon elective as well as assist the evening program staff with the set-up and implementation of the Thursday Night Dance!
