Hollywood Stunt Camp

Description

It's time to jump, tumble, stage-fight, and high-fall at Pali's Hollywood Stunt Camp. Morph into your favorite action hero and try your hand at major motion picture stunts!

Week 1:

Guided by professional stuntmen with years of expert training and experience working on Hollywood feature films, TV series and live programs, stunt campers will learn exciting high falls, such as headers and back falls, hand-to-hand combat, swordplay techniques, fight scene choreography, jumps from high scaffolds, safe landing/falling techniques, and more, all on our state-of-the art stunt equipment.

Week 2:

In week two, experience more adventurous stunts, including a heart-pounding high fall from a 32-foot tower! When ready, you will collaborate with Film Institute campers to design and perform the actual stunts to be included in their movies, which will debut at the Pali Film Festival. At the culmination of your training, you and your fellow stunt campers will direct, design, and choreograph your very own stunt show spectacular. Both the films and your show will be highlights at the Pali Showcase at the end of the week, to be seen by all of camp, your parents, and actual Hollywood agents looking for new talent. So if it's thrills and hands on experience you're looking for, Hollywood Stunt Camp is the place for you!

Packing List

Hollywood Stunt Camp Packing List

  • Comfortable but not overly 'loose' clothing

General Packing List

The following clothing list is designed as a guide for parents and campers and should be tailored to your child's planned specialty (see below), and activity interests. For example, campers with no desire for horseback riding do not need to bring a shoe with a 1/2" heel.

Campers and staff dress informally at Pali Overnight Adventures. The rule of thumb is bring clothes that are comfortable and expendable. We discourage designer clothing for 3 main reasons; camp is rustic and your child will be active; the relaxed no pressure environment gives campers the opportunity of not having to compete; and clothes are very easily lost or damaged at camp.

Camp implements a strict policy when it comes to "provocative clothing". A general rule is that undergarments must be worn at all times and may not be visible and that the navel to the bottom must be covered completely. Laundry is done for campers stayingfor three or more weeks. Laundry is done after the second week of a camper's stay. Please make sure your child has a laundry bag for their belongings.

Lost And Found - Name tags should be placed on all campers belongings. Please put the campers first and last name. While every effort is made to help campers be conscious of their belongings and return lost and found articles back to the campers, unlabeled articles are rarely recovered.

Pali Adventures is not responsible for the loss or damage to a camper's personal belongings for any reason (i.e. fire, theft, laundry or forgetfulness) and Pali Adventures strongly recommends that campers not bring items of value to camp.

Luggage - Luggage should be confined to bedding and one suitcase or duffel bag. Everything should be labelled and closed securely. We reserve the right to screen a camper's luggage.

Bedding - Camp does not provide any bedding or linens. All campers must bring their own sleeping bag (or sheets and blankets) for their nightly use, plus a pillow and pillowcase. Camp does not provide towels.

Personal Equipment - Cell phones are not permitted in camp and on camp sponsored trips. The camp may, at its discretion, hold cell phones or other similar devices. Confiscated cell phones may be picked up at the end of camp. Concerned Parents are always welcome to call the Head Counselors to check on the progress of their child. Almost every type of electronic device is not allowed at camp. As a rule, any item that can: send or receive a phone call or text messages, play a DVD, access the Internet or send or receive e-mail is not permitted at camp. Hand held electronic games, iPods, or other expensive equipment are strongly discouraged. The camp is not responsible for the damage, theft or other loss of any personal items.

Dangerous items are strictly prohibited from camp. No drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, matches, fireworks, or other contraband may be brought into camp. If these or any other dangerous items are found at camp, the staff will confiscate them and disciplinary action will be taken. Camp cannot guarantee the safekeeping or return of confiscated items.

Safety

All of Pali's programs adhere to every single one of the ACA (American Camp Association) accreditation specifications. This is a very thorough process, by the countries premiere camp standards organisation.

Pali counselors undergo an intense two week orientation period before camp begins. This training includes all matters of camper issue resolution, activity supervision and site specific rescue. All of our counselors are also fully certified in both CPR and First Aid.

Hollywood Stunt Camp Safety

Hollywood Stunts is run by fully trained professionals with stunts experience in live action shows, television and film.

Every little measure is made to ensure the campers are as safe as possible at all times.

Our stunt equipment including mats and towers are all up to high industry standard and checked regularly.

The campers are made aware of the rules on the first day and that failure to cooperate will see them dismissed from the specialty.

All high falls are preceded by direct commands from both camper and instructor. No high fall is done unless permission by our professionals is given. Those deemed unable to perform any of the moves safely will be directed to other stunts more to their ability level.
