General Packing List

The following clothing list is designed as a guide for parents and campers and should be tailored to your child's planned specialty (see below), and activity interests.

Campers and staff dress informally at Pali Overnight Adventures. The rule of thumb is bring clothes that are comfortable and expendable. We discourage designer clothing for 3 main reasons; camp is rustic and your child will be active; the relaxed no pressure environment gives campers the opportunity of not having to compete; and clothes are very easily lost or damaged at camp.

Camp implements a strict policy when it comes to "provocative clothing". A general rule is that undergarments must be worn at all times and may not be visible and that the navel to the bottom must be covered completely. Laundry is done for campers stayingfor three or more weeks. Laundry is done after the second week of a camper's stay. Please make sure your child has a laundry bag for their belongings.

Lost And Found - Name tags should be placed on all campers belongings. Please put the campers first and last name. While every effort is made to help campers be conscious of their belongings and return lost and found articles back to the campers, unlabeled articles are rarely recovered.

Pali Adventures is not responsible for the loss or damage to a camper's personal belongings for any reason (i.e. fire, theft, laundry or forgetfulness) and Pali Adventures strongly recommends that campers not bring items of value to camp.

Luggage - Luggage should be confined to bedding and one suitcase or duffel bag. Everything should be labelled and closed securely. We reserve the right to screen a camper's luggage.

Bedding - Camp does not provide any bedding or linens. All campers must bring their own sleeping bag (or sheets and blankets) for their nightly use, plus a pillow and pillowcase. Camp does not provide towels.

Personal Equipment - Cell phones are not permitted in camp and on camp sponsored trips. The camp may, at its discretion, hold cell phones or other similar devices. Confiscated cell phones may be picked up at the end of camp. Concerned Parents are always welcome to call the Head Counselors to check on the progress of their child. Almost every type of electronic device is not allowed at camp. As a rule, any item that can: send or receive a phone call or text messages, play a DVD, access the Internet or send or receive e-mail is not permitted at camp. Hand held electronic games, iPods, or other expensive equipment are strongly discouraged. The camp is not responsible for the damage, theft or other loss of any personal items.

Dangerous items are strictly prohibited from camp. No drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, matches, fireworks, or other contraband may be brought into camp. If these or any other dangerous items are found at camp, the staff will confiscate them and disciplinary action will be taken. Camp cannot guarantee the safekeeping or return of confiscated items.

Safety

All of Pali's programs adhere to every single one of the ACA (American Camp Association) accreditation specifications. This is a very thorough process, by the countries premiere camp standards organisation.

Pali counselors undergo an intense two week orientation period before camp begins. This training includes all matters of camper issue resolution, activity supervision and site specific rescue. All of our counselors are also fully certified in both CPR and First Aid.

Extreme Action Adventure Safety

Our paintball fields are run by fully trained professionals who maintain a VERY strict code of conduct. Campers must have their masks on AT ALL TIMES, not shoot within 15ft and must be able to see where they are shooting. Campers must also where closed toed shoes and long pants. No exceptions. Any breaking of these rules will result in immediate dismissal from the paintball field.

Our Motorsports course ensures that every camper is as safe as possible. It is strict policy that all campers are to wear the supplied helmets, gloves, knee and elbow pads, and chest guard as well as long pants and closed toed shoes. We have hay bales that run alongside the entire track and counselors positioned every 100ft along the track. We also have a full range of industry standard signalling flags to keep campers and spectators aware of what's going on at all times.

Our Gigantic Slip and Slide and Hamster Balls have been tested under multiple conditions. The slide is custom made to suit the shape and contours or our elevated environment.

Both the Lower Coyote Ridge and Slide High Ropes Courses are always under the supervision of certified ropes course instructors. Every member of staff who works at the course is pre-approved and fully trained by our Ropes Course Director and Assistant Director of the camp, Jolee Jones. Every safety precaution is taken including double checking of harnesses, the wearing of helmets and 'Spotters' used to ensure optimum safety at the beginning and end stages of the climb. Campers are also required to wear closed toed shoes at all times.

Our explosives section is as safe as it could possibly be. Our demolitions expert will make sure that all detonations will occur in a controlled environment and that no single act goes unsupervised. Pali is as intent as ever to ensure this is one of the safest activities at camp.

'Shred City' is our custom designed Skate Park at Pali Adventures. As a rule no-one can skate without proper supervision, a helmet (done up), close toed shoes, elbow pads and knee pads. Our staff are consummate professionals who have spent a lot of time in this environment and know every safety precaution to take.

Every other aspect of Extreme Action and Adventure camp is kept under 100% supervision. No camper is allowed near any activity without a counselor present. This is reiterated to them on their arrival.
